One of their aims is to offer accredited Bollywood dance exams worldwide, together with supporting cultural integration, providing training, guidance and opportunities.

BACKGROUND

The aim of the International Association of Modern Indian Arts (IAMIA) is to unite the world in celebration of Indian culture and Modern Indian Performing Arts. Currently Bollywood dance is not recognized or accredited in the same way as other performing art forms. IAMIA’s vision is to see Bollywood Dance recognized worldwide as an artistic and creative dance form.

IAMIA has a crucial role in helping to establish, maintain and monitor standards in Indian Performing Arts and enabling people from the wider international community to discover, experience and develop their skills within this area. IAMIA is about to create history by officially launching the world’s first Bollywood dance syllabus and is committed to raising and promoting standards within dance.
There are many organizations and teachers, dancers, choreographers, actors, educational establishments, arts organizations and accreditation bodies, all of whom are committed to the emancipation of Bollywood and Indian Arts. These include the British Dance Council, World Dance Council and International Dance Organization.

IAMIA passionately believes that it is vital that the future generations of performers, dance instructors and examiners are properly trained and given the recognition they richly deserve, by having internationally accredited Bollywood Dance qualifications. This will also enable those from other cultures to partake in the joys of Bollywood and Indian Arts by following structured courses and format.

Support from dance organizations, trainers, accredited bodies and dance officials will be crucial to the success of our historical and pioneering mission, and we therefore look forward to promoting professional Bollywood qualifications to multi cultural audiences throughout the globe.
